Facebook video skews long: Lives, sermons, community meetings, marketplace walkthroughs, page updates that run past an hour. That is exactly where a transcript pays off most. Nobody scrubs through a 90-minute Live to find one announcement; a transcript makes every minute searchable, quotable and reusable, and it's how that content becomes accessible to members who can't listen.
The workflow is upload-only: download your own video or Live recording from your profile or page (your own content is available to you as a file), or use the original recording, and drop it in. Trustample reads the speech straight from the video, with no links, nothing fetched from Facebook, and no separate audio extraction.
Page admins and community managers get the most from the loop: transcribe the Live, post the recap while it's fresh (AI actions on paid plans draft a summary or key points grounded in the transcript), and export SRT captions so the replay works muted. The free plan covers 60 minutes a month; Basic handles files to 3 hours and Pro to 6 hr 40 min, longer than almost any Live.
How it works
- 1Download your video or Live recording from your own profile or page, or use the original file.
- 2Upload it. The MP4 straight from Facebook's download works as-is.
- 3Edit inline, then export text for recaps or SRT/VTT captions for the replay.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can I paste a Facebook link instead of uploading?
No, Facebook links aren't accepted: the workflow is upload-only and built for content you own or have rights to. For page admins that is rarely a hurdle, because your own uploads and Live recordings are downloadable from your profile or page's video tools, and the MP4 Facebook hands you transcribes as-is with no conversion step.
Can it transcribe a Facebook Live recording?
Yes, Lives are the flagship case. Download the recording after the stream ends and upload it; a 90-minute Live transcribes in a few minutes. Churches, community groups and creators use this to turn every stream into a recap, quotes and captions.
How do I get my Facebook video as a file?
Your own uploads and Live recordings are available to download from your profile or page's video tools (and Facebook's download-your-information export includes your videos). If you produced the video elsewhere, the original file from your editor is the best source.
What about Facebook's own captions?
Platform auto-captions serve viewers on the platform and stop there. A transcript is an asset you keep: editable, exportable as caption files for any editor, and reusable as a recap post, newsletter section or quote source. For community content, posting the transcript is also a genuine accessibility win.
Can I transcribe a video from someone else's page or group?
Only with the owner's permission or rights to the content, and Trustample won't fetch anyone's content regardless. For group content you manage, transcribe the recordings your group produced; for anything else, ask the person who made it.
An honest note: Trustample transcribes your own recordings and files, and it deliberately never downloads from Facebook or anyone's account; links aren't accepted. For recorded meetings or Lives with other participants, make sure everyone knew it was being recorded, because consent rules apply to streams the same as any recording.
