When you record a Google Meet call, Google saves an MP4 to the organizer's Drive in a folder called "Meet Recordings". That file is all Trustample needs: upload it as-is and the speech is read directly from the video, with no conversion, no add-on, and no Workspace admin setup.
This works on any Google account that can receive the recording file, which matters because Meet's own transcription is limited to certain Workspace tiers and only in supported languages. With Trustample you also get an editor, AI summaries, and SRT export if the meeting needs captions.
The one practical snag is ownership. Meet saves the recording to the organizer's My Drive only, so if you attended the meeting but didn't organize it, there is nothing in your own Drive to find. Ask the organizer to share the file from their "Meet Recordings" folder; Google also emails them a link once the recording finishes processing, which can take a while after long meetings. Once the MP4 is in hand, the rest is the same flow as a Zoom or Teams recording: upload, skim, correct, export.

Why is there no recording in my Drive?
Recording in Meet must be started manually during the call and is available on most paid Workspace plans (not personal free accounts). The MP4 appears in the organizer's Drive a few minutes after the meeting ends. If you can't record in Meet, a screen recorder or phone recording transcribes just as well.
Meet already has captions. Why transcribe afterwards?
Live captions disappear when the call ends. A transcript is permanent, searchable, quotable and exportable, and Trustample's version is editable with an audio-synced player, plus AI summaries and action items on paid plans.
Can I transcribe a Meet call held in Spanish or French?
Yes: pick the spoken language before uploading. Trustample supports 16 languages, and Pro can additionally translate the transcript to English in the same pass.
How long does a one-hour Meet recording take?
Typically a few minutes, most of it upload time. Transcription runs in the background, so you can close the tab and find the finished transcript in your dashboard.
I attended the meeting but the recording isn't in my Drive. Where is it?
In the organizer's Drive, and only there: Meet always writes the MP4 to the My Drive of whoever organized the meeting, inside "Meet Recordings". Attendees and even co-hosts don't get a copy. Ask the organizer to share the file or grant you download access; the recording link also appears in their confirmation email from Google.
How long a Meet recording can I upload?
A weekly one-hour sync is nowhere near the limits. Basic accepts files up to 3 hours per upload, which covers a recorded training morning, and Pro goes to 6 hr 40 min. On Free, recordings up to 30 minutes work, which suits short check-ins.
